Today’s recipe is an easy and low fat side to go with any main course. I will be periodically posting recipes for side dishes that are fantastic! These recipes are great for kids too, because they are fun and delicious!
First up we have asparagus fries:
Buy the thinnest asparagus possible. Have 2 small plates, one with a small amount of italian dressing and one with flour, sugar, salt and pepper. Dip in italian dressing then in flour mixture. Place asparagus on cookie sheet which has been sprayed with butter spray. Bake at350 for about 10 minutes or until crispy…you may want to turn it on broil at the end for about 3 minutes or until almost burnt…enjoy! You can dip in honey mustard, ranch or any dipping sauce.
Asparagus contains folates and B vitamins which are great for heart health. Also, it is a good source of potassium. Also asparagus is a great veggie to eat to fight birth defects because of the high folate and B Vitamins properties.
