PROJECT RUNWAY
SEASON 7 REVIEW, FANTASY LEAGUE REVIEW AND PROJECTIONS FOR FINALE BY BELLA MODA ENTERPRISES:
Let me just start by saying, that I picked Emilio to win it all from the very first show. And I still believe that! I actually have Emilio, Seth Aaron and Jay in the mini league I play in with some work friends.
Fantasy Project Runway: Project Runway at Lifetime.com has their own Fantasy league you can play, which I’m sure is very fun! But, I have to say I think ours was the best! At first, our league was basically where we picked the top three designers we thought would make it to the finals based on the first show, plus an alternate, which I picked Anthony:( Then each week we were to pick who we thought would be “Auffed”. We would get points for those that go on and points for the loser and if one of our top won that week. As time went on, some of the rules changed a bit as probably the administrator(or “commissioner” in fantasy football terms) realized it was the only way that a fair and exciting game would be played since they were all trailing behind me:D
So, the “commish” started adding points we could add to our regular weekly points from guessing the amount of times people said “challenges” or any take on the word. Or how many times Tim touches his glasses or said “make it work”. Or how many times they focus on the workroom clock or say “runway”. Now it’s down to the final four, and the guesses for extra points are how many times Heidi will touch the baby bump, how many times Nina will smile and how many people will cry.
I have to say it’s brilliant work by our lovely commissioner and her just as lovely assistant to come up with these little fun additions to our game. It’s turned out to be just as fun as the twists and turns that Heidi, Tim and the gang add to the show as times goes on. It’s fun not knowing from week to week what to expect, I hope to play again next season!
So, for tonight, I have Jay winning of course. And I am skeptical about the baby bump thing, since I think that most of this show will take place after the baby is born and the only time we see her is before they see the designers off to their homes to make the collections for fashion week. Also, I think Nina will smile a couple of times, yes…
So, now that’s off my mind, I have to say that I am very pleased with the talent and the twists this season. Although they did designs for Heidi twice as the celebrity guest, but it’s her show, so that is completely “in” in fashion. I, as just about everyone, didn’t think Ping would make it very far(a little too obscure). And Anthony, I am surprised made it this far. I went for him being the local Atlantan, and also thought he probably had a lot of potential. He did get better as the show went on, and I feel that he will definitely have something amazing for us to buy in the near future that I could see being for just about any girl.
Now, that crazy Maya Luz (who’s mom was probably higher than most other moms, since she was born in the 80s, to name her that)was just out of her mind to quit like that so close to fashion week.
We all know how many struggling aspiring designers out there would have loved to be in the position she was in. Like my very good friend and amazing local Atlanta designer, silla, who could have very well auditioned. She decided she was not going to try out because she knew she is a calm, relaxed person and that environment was not condusive to her working and thought process. She specifically did not try out because she knew she didn’t want to deal with the stress, the living arrangements and the workroom drama. So, guess what? She opted out, even though auditions were downtown and she could have gone. She left that spot for another up and coming designer who really really wanted the chance to be on Project Runway.
So there are my thoughts and predictions for the night. I really hope that the 3 guys, Emilio, Seth Aaron and Jay make it. Please don’t let Mila in just to have a girl in the final. Also, I really really think Emilio will win it all. He has the technique, design aesthetic and thoughtfulness of a truly great designer.
Go Emilio and Auf Wiedersehen Mila!!!
Check back tomorrow for a recap!

I was completely incorrect on Jay winning last night! I thought for sure he would…but you never know, maybe they wanted to have a girl in the competition! Anyway, I am distraught over that, but I am still hopeful Emilio will pull through for me…whether I pick him for my fantasy league winner is another question for next week though! I will have to think it over….Oh, and I was right about the baby bump, but I didn’t enter zero on my league entry, so that is totally my bad on that note. I did like how they were straight forward and did the run-off right away. So, we will have to see what happens next week but I really think either Emilio or Seth Aaron will reign as Project Runway winner this season! Bella Moda
So, I didn’t win the Project Runway fantasy league this year, at least not the regular season anyway. i do plan on winning the finale portion, though. I was a little dissapointed since I did so well up until the point of making guesses on the different bonuses(like how many times Tim said “Make it Work”).
That was what got me! I can’t be mad, though, the girl that won is donating her money to pay for her children’s girl scout cookies, which is so sweet!
Anyway, tonight is the finale and we are to pick the top three in the order we think they will come in to win the secondary pot of money. After my previous blogs, I’m sure you all know who I picked. I hope that he(Emilio) wins it all, since I picked him to after the very first show. I did just find out, though, that 6 of us chose the same order of the final 3 which is Emilio to win, then Seth Aaron and then Mila. So, I win a whole $20 if I pick it correctly! Anyway, it’s about the fun of it, so I need to really enjoy this last episode and who knows if I will play again or not…..
So Auf Weidersehen Mila and Seth Aaron and my fingers are crossed for Emilio, make it work!!!
